§ 11.5-28. Industrial structural supplies.

Industrial structural supplies, i.e. raw materials such as steel rods, channels, beams, pipe, etc., shall comply with the following requirements:

(a)

Height, width and weight: Legal.

(b)

Length 75 feet maximum:

(1)

Hauling permitted daylight hours, week days only, excluding Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.

(2)

Rear overhang of load not to exceed ten (10) feet.

(3)

Blanket permits permissible.

More than 75 feet:

(1)

Hauling permits for this type of movement may be considered and issued for daylight hours, week days only, excluding Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, dependent upon substantiating circumstances.

(2)

Trip basis permit only to be issued.

(3)

Company escort, police escort, highway patrol escort or a combination of these will be required.

(c)

Special attention: Haulers requiring permits should realize that raw materials such as those covered by this permit can usually be hauled satisfactorily in commercial lengths requiring less than a fifty-five (55) foot overall movement. In most cases these materials are cut in shorter pieces when they reach the manufacturing point. Because of these circumstances, it would be unusual to justify any lengths greater than an overall seventy-five (75) foot movement.

(d)

Remarks: Multiple loading to develop dimensions of this permit will not be permitted.
