§ 11.5-27. Overlength utility pole permits.

  • The issuance of permits to public utilities for the movement of overlength utility poles are as follows:

    (1)

    Blanket permits up to an overall length of eighty-five (85) feet may be issued for a period not to exceed twelve (12) months.

    (2)

    Where new utility construction is involved, blanket permits up to a length of one hundred five (105) feet overall may be issued on a job basis for a period not to exceed twelve (12) months.

    (3)

    For emergency movements, blanket permits with no weekend or nighttime restrictions may be issued up to a length of one hundred five (105) feet, for a period not to exceed twelve (12) months.

    (4)

    In each of the above instances an escort will be required where the overall length is in excess of seventy-five (75) feet.

    (5)

    Where lengths greater than above are necessary, a trip permit may be issued.
