Chapter 7. FIRE PREVENTION AND PROTECTION |
Article III. FIRE PREVENTION CODE |
§ 7-44. Limitation of liability.
It is the intent of the board of county commissioners that by the adoption of this code a limited measure of fire safety be afforded the public. The adoption of this code should not be construed as imposing a duty upon the county to inspect every structure which it is authorized to inspect or to examine all construction plans which it is authorized to examine. Furthermore, by the adoption of this article, the county expressly disclaims a duty to ensure that all structures are built in accordance with plans submitted or a duty to promptly remedy known violations of the provisions of this article. This limitation of liability is pursuant to an express policy decision embodied in this article to afford the public a minimal degree of fire prevention safety consistent with a limited expenditure of public funds.
