The building official, with the approval of the board of county commissioners, may
appoint such number of officers, inspectors, assistants and other employees as shall
be authorized from time to time. No person shall be appointed as inspector of construction
who has not had at least five (5) years' experience as a building inspector, builder,
qualified professional engineer, architect, or as a superintendent or foreman of construction
or who has equivalent experience in any of the related construction trades or as set
forth by the board of county commissioners.
