§ 4.2-17. Collection and disposition.

  • (a)

    The tax collector of Polk County is hereby authorized to collect the annual county vessel registration fee at the time when state vessel registration fees are collected; to issue a receipt for payment of the county fee; to remit the first dollar ($1.00) of each county vessel registration fee to the state for deposit in the motorboat revolving trust fund in accordance with the provisions of Section 327.22(2), Florida Statutes; and to deposit the remaining funds collected into the county lake and river enhancement trust fund.

    (b)

    Monies realized from the annual vessel registration fee and deposited in the county lake and river enhancement trust fund shall be used exclusively for:

    (1)

    Maintenance and installation of boat ramps and aids to navigation.

    (2)

    Lake management activities.

    (3)

    Fisheries enhancement and maintenance.

    (4)

    Habitat enhancement and maintenance.

    (5)

    Other water body maintenance and enhancement activities.

    (6)

    Such other activities as are authorized by Section 327.22, Florida Statutes.
