§ 8-64. Definitions.

For the purpose of this division the following terms shall have the following meanings:

(a)

Department means the Polk County Environmental Services Department.

(b)

Man-made body of water means any excavation made with machinery or by artificial means that holds water.

(c)

Owner means any individual, partnership, corporation, municipality, organization, or other entity owning all or part of a man-made body of water.

(d)

Water hyacinth means the floating aquatic plant Eichhorinia crassipes.

(e)

Water lettuce means the floating aquatic plant Pistia stratiotes.
