§ 5-313. Unsupervised work.

  • It shall be unlawful for any contractor licensed by the county contractors' licensing board to employ any person or persons to engage in the skilled work of installing roofing, waterproofing, gas, electrical, plumbing, or H.A.R.V. fixtures or systems, or any part thereof, where said person or persons are not duly qualified and certified by the board in said field, or who are not under the direct supervision of a person so qualified and certified by the board. Any person, firm, or corporation found in violation of this provision shall, upon conviction, be punished in accordance with the provisions of Section 125.69, Florida Statutes. In addition, it shall constitute grounds for disciplinary action under the provisions of section 5-311 of this article, for any contractor licensed by the county contractor licensing board to employ any person or persons to engage in the skilled work of installing roofing, waterproofing, gas, electrical, plumbing or H.A.R.V. fixtures or systems, or any part thereof, where said person or persons are not duly qualified and certified by the board in said field, or who are not under the direct supervision of a person so qualified and certified by the board. Direct supervision shall mean the person qualified and certified by the board shall be in direct communication with those under his supervision.
