§ 5-156. Registration of contractors.

  • No person contracting for the performance of service work under this article shall be issued a set-up permit until evidence is submitted that the following provisions have been met and annual registration is accomplished on a form prescribed by the department, accompanied by a registration fee as may be established by resolution of the board of county commissioners.

    (1)

    Post with the clerk of the board, on form approved by the board, a bond in a sum of five thousand dollars ($5,000.00) conditioned upon compliance with the provisions of the law and all rules, regulations and codes adopted by the board.

    (2)

    Furnish all proof that public liability insurance is maintained with a surety company authorized to do business in Florida.

    (3)

    Furnish proof that the requirements of the "Workers' Compensation Law" in the State of Florida have been met.

    (4)

    Furnish evidence of statutory compliance if a fictitious name is used.

    (5)

    Furnish evidence of having obtained a current occupational license to engage in such business.
