§ 12-134. Declaration of water shortage; water shortage emergency.
Latest version.
Upon declaration of a water shortage or water shortage emergency within all or any
part of the county by the governing board or the executive director of the district,
all lawn irrigation, landscape irrigation and related outdoor water shortage restrictions
adopted by the district applicable to the county, or any portion thereof, shall be
subject to enforcement action pursuant to this division. Any violation of the provisions
of Chapter 40D-21, Florida Administrative Code, or any order issued pursuant thereto,
shall be a violation of this division. Furthermore, the county manager may declare
a water shortage or water shortage emergency for all or any portion of the county
and place additional water use restrictions as are deemed necessary to address the
situation. To remain in effect, the board at their next regularly scheduled meeting,
must ratify the water shortage declaration.
