§ 10-58. Containment works.

  • Man-made lakes, ponds or other containment works in connection with a limerock mining operation shall be constructed with a maximum slope of thirty (30) degrees to a depth of six (6) feet of water. Whenever mineral extraction is completed revegetation and disposal of soils or tailings shall be completed, before abandonment. Existing quarry lakes are exempt from this provision, except that whenever any person carries out any activity or applies for a development permit to develop any existing quarry lake area, it shall apply.
