§ 10.5-165. Intent.

The county intends to protect minors from victimization and criminal activity and to promote parental control and responsibility for minor children by adopting this Polk County Youth Protection Ordinance in accordance with Sections 877.20 through 877.24, Florida Statutes. As of the effective date set forth below, Polk County Ordinance Nos. 97-20 and 98-47 are hereby amended and restated into this article and shall hereafter be referred to and cited as the "Polk County Youth Protection Ordinance" with the Ordinance No. first set forth above [#2008-040]. All outstanding violations of Polk County Ordinance Nos. 97-20 and 98-47 existing as of the effective date shall remain in full force and effect. After the effective date, violations shall be cited by law enforcement as the "Polk County Youth Protection Ordinance" with the Ordinance No. first set forth above reference [#2008-040].
